Chips for 2 players, stack by stack
The player count doesn't change the per-player split: everyone gets the same stack as at a full table. It changes what has to come out of the case. For 2 players with 25/50 blinds at level 1:
| Starting stack | Per player | Total for 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | 27 chips (8 × 25, 8 × 100, 4 × 500, 7 × 1,000) | 54 |
| 20,000 | 30 chips (8 × 25, 8 × 100, 6 × 500, 6 × 1,000, 2 × 5,000) | 60 |
| 30,000 | 32 chips (8 × 25, 8 × 100, 6 × 500, 6 × 1,000, 4 × 5,000) | 64 |
| 50,000 | 36 chips (8 × 25, 8 × 100, 6 × 500, 6 × 1,000, 8 × 5,000) | 72 |
Is your chip set big enough for 2 players?
You need 60 chips: a 300-chip set is enough by count, with 240 left over, room for 8 rebuys of 30 chips. Check the small values first: 16 chips of 25 and as many of 100.
2 players around the table
With 2 players it is heads-up: you are in the big blind every other hand. A deep stack, 20,000 or more, keeps it from being decided in a single hand.
On payouts, with 2 players the winner takes it all: the payout calculator gives the amounts from the buy-in and the rebuys. For the length of the night, see the blind structure calculator.
